My Movie Review Page
Here are my opinions on movies I have seen.
Blair Witch Project - I wasn't very disappointed with this movie as I didn't get caught up in the in all the hype. By the time it reached Australia it was pretty well known that it wasn't a 'real life' documentary. The movie itself was ok. I must say the acting was very real, I certainly got the feel they were alone in the woods. I've heard many different stories on how this film was made and whether or not they had a film crew with them. If anyone knows please e-mail me and let me know. - 7/10

Sleep Hollow - I thought this was a great movie. I love the Gothic setting and the quirky character Johnny Depp played. Based on the myth of The Headless Horseman it was a horror comedy. Excellent graphics of people having their heads lopped off added to the overall satisfaction of this movie. I'm certainly going to see it again. My sister didn't think the characters were 'deep' enough. There wasn't a lot of time for character development and personally I didn't think it mattered. Great movie! 9/10

House on Haunted Hill - This movie was great up until the last 10-15 minutes of it. There were so many other ways the ending could have been done, but instead they opted for a stupid ending. If you want to know why I thought the ending was such a let down click here. But be warned that there are spoilers for the movie involved! The movie is basically about a man and his wife who hate each others guts. They are always thinking up new ways of disposing of the other. He throws a birthday party for his wife at the old psychiatric hospital. She gives him a guest list but the that is mysteriously changed and 5 strangers turn up. G.Rush Offers them $1 million each if they stay in the house until sunrise. Lots of scares and blood and it rated a 9/10 until the ending and then was down graded to 7/10

American Dream - Good grief! I have no idea how this movie got nominated for so many Academy awards. The language is a bit over the top. I don't see how saying the 'c' word as often as saying the 'f' word makes a movie any better. The movie is about a middle-aged man going through 'male menopause' His attentions (and fantasies) turn to his daughter's 16-year-old best friend. Things really start happening when strange people move in next door. The man is an ex-marine, his wife looks like she has taken a few too many Prozac and their son is straight from weirdsville. It's told in the first person through the eyes of Kevin Spacey. 7/10

The Green Mile - A good movie taken from Stephen Kings book of the same name. Not often you get to see a movie that is exactly like the book. But this one was and it was really good. If you liked the book, you will like the movie. However a general rule is to see the movie first because the book is always better. 8.5/10

Idle Hands ? This has to be the dumbest movie I have ever seen. A cast of nobodies making no sense at all. What a waste of time and money. Don't bother seeing it! 0/10

2001

Proof of Life - Great Movie!!!
Action/Adventure isnt usually my thing but this movie was really really good! Set in South America, Meg Ryans husband gets captured by some mountain geurilla terrorists and Russell Crowe is sent in to rescue him. Lots of fast paced action and suspense. 8.5/10
